Digital work instructions provide accuracy and traceability. In a recent discussion with a ProcessIQ customer, we thought it would be helpful to other manufacturers to share their highlights, including the reasons for change, challenges and benefits and future ambitions for their shop floor operations.

The discussions began with what problems the customer had identified and the need to modernize their shop floor processes and it was essentially driven by a desire for improving access to data and quality and to eradicate paper from the production processes.

Quality data capture, compliance & reporting

Why ProcessIQ for Green Power Solutions?

Paper based Production Processes

The customer knew their paper based shop floor build documentation and quality data capture were inefficient, cumbersome to manage, but most importantly difficult to get to every increasing data requirements. Problem solving, compliance and reporting was very difficult having paper based electronic work instructions and quality travellers. Finding critical information was very time consuming, rifling though paper binders. Time to go digital but how do we transform the shop floor?

Digital Work Instructions for Accuracy

Standardize assembly processes with interactive, step-by-step work instructions, reducing human error and ensuring product consistency.
The customer expressed their satisfaction with the user-friendliness of ProcessIQ, noting that it eased the transition from their previous paper-based processes.
The customer found ProcessIQ extremely helpful in defining their build and quality processes electronically, improving overall efficiency.
While they appreciated the ability to import legacy work instructions (Using a PDF to enable a quick start of the software), it was noted the initial trepidation was quickly overcome as they became familiar with the software and used it daily.

Key highlights of going paperless

Getting into the reeds on the electronic work instruction part for a moment, one of the key benefits identified was the ability to manipulate images, zoom in for better clarity, and store quality data digitally, which was a significant upgrade from their old paper processes.
The customer praised the flexibility and openness of the software, emphasizing that it allowed them to maintain both paper copies and secure digital records.
ProcessIQ has improved traceability and provided a better understanding of data.
They find the ability to use digital scanners for data entry hugely beneficial, removing manual data entry issues.

Simulating your production processes

The discussion touched upon the upcoming simulation feature in ProcessIQ, which allows you to simulate end to end processes before committing to a production rus, further enhancing efficiency and ensuring quality data is meeting the specification. Timings can also be used to validate assumptions for planned vs actual.

Future plans with Microsoft PowerBI Reporting & ERP Integration

The customer expressed strong interest in the reporting capabilities of ProcessIQ, particularly planned vs actual reporting to validate financial assumptions and they are excited about integrating Power BI for visual analytics and seeing how it could benefit production management and improve stakeholder engagement.
The discussion concluded with plans for to go further and utilise ProcessIQ capabilities for ERP integration and process efficiency with shop floor tooling and equipment integration, supporting the customer ambitions.

Scalable & Future-Ready

Designed for flexibility and growth, ProcessIQ supports rapid production changes, new product introductions, and evolving technology without disrupting workflows.
